Review

At first I thought it was going to be another filler book for the series. The pace was a bit slow and it was all about try to determined where the characters where and how they were going to move forward.

But, oh boy, was I wrong!!! In the second part everything that could happen it did, even the unthinkable! (If you have already read the book I think you know what I’m talking about!)
I always try not to get attached to the characters because you don’t know who is going to die in the book (because I can assure you, just like someone dies in every season of Game of Thrones, someone will die in every book of this series) but I’ve got a soft spot for Cleo and Magnus and even though I don’t read fantasy for the romantic aspect even I was happy about them becoming official.

I love that in this book we have visited another kingdom. Kraeshia was interesting even if the Emperor was something else…. as someone you hate and want to hit every time he opens his mouth. And the whole culture in Kraeshia is horrifying, but it reflects some way of thinking in some countries or in medieval times.

What I like about this series is that the characters continue to grow and evolve with the circumstances, especially Cleo.

But that ending???? I don’t know what to think about it.

I really want to pick up book 5 but since Immortal Reign won’t be out until beginning next year, I’m waiting until this winter… but that ending!
