Review

I have to admit that a lot of time had passed since I read the first and second book of the series: 2 years and a half! So a lot of the details were a bit fuzzy, but after a couple of chapters I started remembering a bit more, mostly because the characters dynamic was still there so finding that rhythm back helped a lot. Another help was that the author put recaps on her websites. Others authors should really consider it.

Two months I’ve passed since the end of Frozen (the second book of the series) and the Rebels and the Expats have organized forces to try and stop Frank and his movement and his army of forgeries.

For Gray (do you remember him?) things are moving too slowly. He wants to go back in action. I like that he doesn’t follow orders and as a group of people that would follow him anyway. But sometimes his initiative can lead to danger. Through most of the book we see Gray’s conflict with his twin brother. Then there is the mixed relationship with Bree and also the return of Emma.

It’s a good end of the trilogy, all questions are answered, most of the conflicts are resolved but some scenes are a repeat of the previous novels. The missions are mostly the same, I think maybe there weren’t enough big surprises or deaths even though with the idea the forgeries (clones) there could have been a big reveal. I guess that card had already been played in the second book.

Overall, I really liked the book and the all trilogy, it had all great elements well connected.
